Life of an Ordinary Aussie Woman

Give Me Your Eyes!

Give me Your eyes for just one second
Give me Your eyes so I can see
Everything that I keep missing
Give me Your love for humanity
Give me Your arms for the broken hearted
The ones that are far beyond my reach
Give me Your heart for the ones forgotten
Give me Your eyes so I can see…

Do you relate to the heart of this song?  Do you hear God’s call in it?

I know I do…ever since I began my new life with Christ I have heard His call to go into the world and proclaim the Gospel…and I believe that we are all called to be agents of change within the world, in whatever capacity God grants us.  I believe that the ‘great commission’ is actually for ALL CHRISTIANS…this is my belief based upon my relationship with God through Christ and scripture.

Is this a bit full on for you?  I respect if it is…perhaps it’s not the way you were raised or what you have been taught…perhaps you are used of constraints and thinking, “that’s just not my gifting.”

Now I’m NOT saying constraints are bad, indeed God Himself helps us with self-control and with living genuine Christian lives…However when we begin to constrain God and His gospel into a box and make un-biblical excuses for ourselves…well then I’m sorry but I do not believe that this is all God has planned for you.  God is so generous in including us in His glorious work, and He abundantly provides for us in our efforts with Him for His Kingdom when we genuinely ask Him.

When we genuinely seek Jesus as Lord, He faithfully responds and gives us His heart and eyes!

Sometimes the road can be long though, so let’s not grow weary in seeing the world through His eyes…Let’s keep the desire burning bright and keep praying, “Lord, give me Your eyes so I can see!”

Today I was blessed to watch another Aussie woman, Christine Caine share her heart for the Gospel and I must say that her heart is beating in time with mine and I share her passion.
If you truly want God’s eyes for this world and need some inspiration, then watch this clip.

In Love, Melanie :)

I find myself liking all your posts. Not a bad thing I guess :)
I just find I'm in a very similar situation in my faith. I have been praying constantly for Jesus to help me to see other people as He sees them. So I could love them like He loves them.
I know it's radical but it's what I long for. And sometimes I feel that God does help me to see someone through His eyes. And that moment helps to go through other moments when I really don't see the other person like God sees him or her.

Lol Joanne, I'm glad God is encouraging you with the posts - so no I don't think it's a bad thing either ;)
I share your heart's desire - it's a good work that God does in His people (even if some find it radical) - so be encouraged you're not alone, even if you sometimes may feel like it...cause I know what that's like as we are minority :) God does give us His eyes because He is faithful and good and it's life changing!

It is true it's very easy to feel isolated from other Christians when your message gets too radical.
Many people feel that it's wonderful that I do the work that I do. But when I encourage them to do something, they start feeling fidgety and try to change topic.
It seems to be easier to give money than time and thought, to act for the people like Jesus asked us to do.
